Documentary Africa (DocA) is a Pan-African film fund committed to cultivating and sustaining a vibrant documentary film ecosystem across the continent. Our focus is to empower African documentary filmmakers to tell African narratives through the African lens, amplifying diverse African perspectives that confront dominant and inaccurate narratives about Africa.

Mohamed Ouma is the Executive Director at DocA. Mohamed is also a filmmaker, curator, mentor, and producer, and engaged in The African Heritage Project, a program aiming to restore fifty African films of historical, cultural, and artistic significance. He cut his professional teeth as a festival manager for the International Film Festival of Africa and the Islands (FIFAI). His latest feature, Red Card, premiered at IDFA 2020.

Renny Matsiko is the Project & Administrative Manager at DocA, where she oversees operations, manages program and finance portfolios, and supports African documentary filmmakers through effective fundraising and grant development. Her background spans the creative, non-profit, banking, and audit sectors.
