Tangerine Tree is an independent production company based in Rotterdam, founded in 2014 by producer Nienke Korthof and producer/director Willem Baptist. The company produces author-driven documentaries that tell authentic, visually engaging stories with a strong social heart. We combine artistic vision with social engagement, resulting in films that are both intimate and impactful, with a special love for youth documentaries. Tangerine Tree co-produces with broadcasters and collaborates with national and international distributors, sales agents, and production partners. Our productions include Shabu by Shamira Raphaëla (IDFA Award for Best Youth Documentary, Golden Calf for Best Feature Documentary, Special Jury Mention at the Berlinale, Prix Europe) and Burning Out by Saskia Gubbels (CPH:DOX, Visions du Réel, IDFA).
