Welcome to the immersive playroom hosted by Anagram, the studio best known for award-winning immersive installations such as Door into the Dark, Collider, Goliath, and Impulse (the latter you can experience this year at the DocLab Exhibition and VR Gallery).
During DocLab Playroom, Anagram is opening up its devising process, offering a unique opportunity to engage with its playful methods even before any technology comes into play. Although technology often plays a crucial role in their projects, Anagram is never just about the technology. This physical, tactile event focused on reimagining the boundaries of the body invites participants to explore the messy, nonlinear paths creative ideas take.
Expect the use of foam, Velcro, jelly, and balloons as you create new body parts in order to explore a wide range of relationships people have with their bodies, from body dysmorphia to phantom limb syndrome. You will be challenged to blur the familiar contours of your body and redefine these in unexpected new ways.
Entry is free, but capacity is limited, so come early—and don’t wear your favorite outfit!
