During this DocLab Playroom, we're testing a groundbreaking prototype by theater company Ontroerend Goed, known for making “interactive theatre for people who don’t like interactive theatre”. Selected participants are invited to playtest the prototype of Handle with Care, a new interactive theatre experience set to be launched in 2025.
The set-up is deceptively simple: an audience, an empty stage, and a big cardboard box that includes some instructions. No actors, no technicians. The result is a radical new theatrical format building on Ontroerend Goed's long history of putting audiences center stage in performances such as TM, Funeral, £¥€$, and Thanks for Being Here, which is also presented at IDFA this year as part of the program of IDFA DocLab and IDFA on Stage.
Selected participants will join the first part of the experience by themselves, followed by a brief presentation and conversation with Ontroerend Goed’s artistic team.
Entrance by invitation only!
