Two films for 13+.
In the short animation Hey Dad, a boy wanders through an enchanted forest that leads to an abandoned beach. There, he finds two chairs. In one, his father is sitting with his back to him. As he approaches, he reflects on the words he has been rehearsing for twenty years. Is this finally the right moment to reveal his secret?
In Hard to Break, we follow popular Instagrammers Atte (18) and Jonshu (16) as they navigate their complicated relationship status. Atte enjoys drinking, smoking, and breaking the rules. The partying with friends and the freedom living in his own apartment gives him seem like any teenager’s dream, but they're also overwhelming. Atte faces being kicked out of his home, as well as frequent court appearances, and even a stint in jail. This documentary provides a glimpse into the lives of Atte and Jonshu through their own eyes, showcasing both their online and offline worlds through their WhatsApp messages, Snapchats, YouTube videos, and Instagram posts. A poignant portrait of a couple who, despite struggles with addiction, violence, and loneliness, demonstrate remarkable resilience.
