IDFA Meets
IDFA for a new generation of documentary film lovers: an experimental and interdisciplinary partner program organized by the new generation within IDFA.
Together with the partner, one or more documentaries will be selected from the IDFA program and linked to the world around us. Each film screening has a side program, ranging from panel talks and concerts to performances.
November 21: IDFA Meets Steppin' Into Tomorrow

IDFA Meets Steppin' Into Tomorrow! A music platform and community that highlights contemporary music from the Netherlands and represents the vibrant local jazz and soul scene. On this evening, you'll first enjoy a screening of We Want the Funk! (Stanley Nelson, Nicole London). Afterwards, you're invited to the spectacular afterparty Get On The Good Foot – a festive ode to funk, where dancing takes center stage. There will be a performance by the Amsterdam funk band Amber Hunters and the dance collective Funky Femme Project. The evening will be hosted by DJs Lucas Benjamin, Rob Manga, and MC Faizel Playfair from Ghetto Funk Collective. November 20: IDFA Meets Meervaart Studio: Cutting Through Rocks
Thursday, November 20, 7:00 p.m., Cinema De Vlugt Theaterzaal
A panel of young people aged 16 to 27 from Meervaart Studio has selected several films for their peers. Cutting Through Rocks is one of them. Prior to the screening at Cinema de Vlugt on Thursday, November 20, there will be an introduction by the Dolle Mina's. Afterwards, there will be a video message from the filmmakers, recorded especially for this screening. The evening will conclude with a musical performance by The Woman band.
