The ticket sales for IDFA Specials has kicked off!

Best of IDFA: Audience Favorites

Every year, IDFA audiences select their favorites by rating films for the NPO Doc IDFA Audience Award. A selection of these top-rated films will be showcased in an exclusive day-long program. The films are English spoken or subtitled in English. The full program will be announced after the Award Ceremony on Thursday November 21.

De Groene Amsterdammerdag

The editors of De Groene Amsterdammer bring together extraordinary or urgent documentaries on politics, society, history and culture in one full-day program.

De Volkskrantdag

Film editor Bor Beekman of De Volkskrant and Aimée Kiene, chief editor of Volkskrant Magazine, will present a full day of highlights from the festival program, with their personal selections guaranteeing a unique cross-section of IDFA.

ECF

During IDFA, the European Cultural Foundation presents films that focus on the public debate about Europe.

Guest of Honor Talk: Johan Grimonprez

This year, the guest of honor at IDFA, artist and filmmaker Johan Grimonprez, will give an extensive Talk titled Maybe the Sky is Really Green, and We’re Just Colorblind. He will be in conversation with IDFA’s artistic director, Orwa Nyrabia.

IDFA Hits Carré

From Friday, November 15 to Sunday, November 17, IDFA will showcase specially selected, notable festival films at the Koninklijk Theater Carré that you definitely shouldn't miss. After each screening, there will be an in-depth discussion with filmmakers and experts.

IDFA Hits is made possible by the VriendenLoterij.

IDFA Junior

The festive IDFA family program for children aged 9 and up includes What's the Film About, With Grace and the classic Anne vliegt. There will be post-screening discussions with the filmmakers and main characters. This program is in Dutch. Tickets are €10.

IDFA in Nieuw-West

This year, IDFA can once again be visited in Nieuw-West! At Cinema de Vlugt and Meervaart, you can watch the best documentary films of the year, some followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers.

IDFA in Noord

This year, a new location has been added to the festival: Pathé Noord, where no less than 75 screenings, including the Best of IDFA, will take place.

National Geographic

Through the power of documentary films and a focus on beauty, National Geographic aims to tell compelling, thought-provoking, and globally relevant stories.

NPO Doc IDFA Audience Award

Festive presentation of the NPO Doc IDFA Audience Award, presented by NPO Doc. The winning film, chosen by the audience, will be screened immediately after the ceremony.

OneWorld

OneWorld hosts the talk following the screening of Union with filmmakers Brett Story and Stephen Maing.

Opening film

In the opening film About a Hero, Piotr Winiewicz takes on the challenge with his AI-generated film based on the works of Werner Herzog. The result is both a product of and a reflection on AI.

Oxfam Novib

During IDFA, Oxfam Novib will as ever present the most beautiful films from IDFA touching on important, urgent themes.

VPRO Preview and Review

Start or end the festival with gems from the IDFA program at the most beautiful cinema in the world: Royal Theater Pathé Tuschinski, featuring a carefully curated program by the film editorial team of VPRO. Tickets are currently available only to VPRO members and will be on sale for everyone starting October 30.

WePresent Night

This evening, WeTransfer's editorial platform, WePresent, takes us on a creative voyage of discovery through stimulating stories and visual experiences.
