Qutaiba Barhamji
Qutaiba Barhamji is a film director and editor. He has edited more than 60 films in 22 languages, including Four Daughters (dir. Kaouther Ben Hania, 2023), Smoke Sauna Sisterhood (dir. Anna Hints, 2023), How to Save a Dead Friend (dir. Marusya Syroechkovskaya, 2022), Little Palestine, Diary of a Siege (dir. Abdallah Al-Khatib, 2021), Poisonous Roses (dir. Ahmed Fawzi Saleh, 2018), Still Recording (dir. Saeed Al Batal and Ghiath Ayoub, 2018). As a director, his work includes Gevar’s Land, which received a Special Jury Mention in the European documentary competition of the Odesa International Film Festival in 2020, and the fiction short Wardé (2016). Barhamji also works as an editing consultant and trainer.
Fredrik Gertten
Fredrik Gertten is an award-winning Swedish director known for telling local stories with a global impact, as seen in films like PUSH (2019), Bikes vs Cars (2015), Big Boys Gone Bananas! (2011), and Bananas! (2009).
As the founder of WG Film, one of Sweden’s leading documentary production companies, he not only directs but also serves as a creative producer. In recognition of his contributions to documentary film, Gertten was named an Honorary Doctor at Malmö University’s Faculty of Culture and Society in October 2017. He also co-hosts the podcast PUSHBACK Talks.
Oksana Sarkisova
Oksana Sarkisova is a film historian and researcher at the Central European University (Budapest/Vienna). Between 2008 and 2023, she directed the Verzio Documentary Film Festival in Hungary. She teaches, curates, and writes on archives and documentary, amateur photography, and memory politics. In 2024, she organized the CEU summer university course The Power of the Visual: Creative Documentary and Human Rights.
