IDFA 2026 takes place from Thursday, November 12 to Sunday, November 22 at various locations across Amsterdam.  

Ticket prices and discount options are as follows:
Regular screenings, excluding special programs: €13,50 (full price) and €8 (discount price)*

* The discounted price applies to students. City Pass holders receive free admission to the first screening, after which a discounted rate of €10 applies. You can use your pass to purchase tickets for the regular program. The pass will be validated in the shopping cart.

Save more with the IDFA Discount Pass

If you plan to see several films, the Discount Pass offers extra savings. Find more information and purchase your pass at idfa.nl/strippenkaart.

Note: The Discount Pass goes on sale October 14 at 12:00 p.m. on this purchase page.

Please note that the strippenkaart for Het Documentaire Paviljoen (see this page) is a different product and cannot be used during the festival.

Regular ticket sales for all screenings start on Wednesday, October 28 at 12:00 p.m.

All special screenings will be listed on idfa.nl/specials from Wednesday, October 14. 

A number of IDFA Specials (de Volkskrantdag, VPRO Previewdag, and De Groene Amsterdammerdag) will already go on sale on Wednesday, September 30. The remaining Specials (including IDFA Hits, IDFA Junior) will go on sale on Wednesday, October 14 at 12:00 p.m.

At the top right of the website, you'll find a person icon and the Log in button. Create your own MyIDFA account or log in if you already have one.

All special screenings will be available on idfa.nl/specials from Wednesday, October 14. 

A number of IDFA Specials (i.e. Volkskrantdag, Groene Amsterdammerdag en VPROdag) will already go on sale in Wednesday, September 30 at 12:00 p.m.

You can pay using iDEAL | Wero, Visa or Mastercard.

Next to online ticket sales, tickets can also be purchased in person at the festival box office during the festival, from November 12 to 22 between 10:00–21:00 at Pathé Tuschinski (Café Abraham).

If you plan to see several films, the Discount Pass (Strippenkaart) offers extra savings. Find more information and purchase your pass at idfa.nl/strippenkaart.

Please note: 

• You must complete the payment for your Discount Pass before you can use it to book tickets.
• If you decide not to attend a screening that you booked with your Discount Pass, you can cancel the ticket in your MyIDFA account. The slot will then become available for you to book another ticket.
• Special screenings and long screenings are excluded and cannot be booked with the Discount Pass.

Cineville members can book free tickets for IDFA screenings on Cineville Fridays & Saturdays: Friday, November 13 and 20, and Saturday, November 14 and 21. The offer applies to IDFA screenings at participating venues in Amsterdam.

The venues include: Het Documentaire Paviljoen, Eye Filmmuseum, Rialto De Pijp, Rialto Silo, Rialto VU Griffioen, Cinema de Vlugt, Het Ketelhuis, Kriterion, and De Balie.

You must reserve your ticket at least two days in advance using your Cineville pass.

Stadspas (City Pass) holders can book tickets for the regular program. Your Stadspass will be validated in the shopping cart. 

Stadspass holders with a green dot receive free admission to their first screening. After that, a discounter rate of €10 applies.

Students can register for a MyIDFA account using their student email address and receive the discounted rate of €8 for all regular screenings. Find more information at idfa.nl/student

If you are logged in with your student email address but don’t see the discounted rate, please contact IDFA at service@idfa.nl

Enter your promotional code in the Promo code field at checkout. Make sure to select the number of tickets you want to book. 

Please note that free tickets must also be checked out. Special Friends do not need a promotional code to book their free tickets: these rights are linked to the MyIDFA account you registered with. You will then see a €0 rate for the screening you wish to book.

If you use a wheelchair and would like to attend an IDFA screening, please purchase your ticket and then send the screening title, time, and location to service@idfa.nl. We will contact you to discuss your visit.

IDFA also organizes several sensory-friendly screenings at Het Ketelhuis. Throughout the festival, multiple films available with Dutch and English subtitles for the Deaf and hard of hearing.

Unfortunately, tickets cannot be refunded. However, you can exchange your tickets for a ticket to another screening, subject to availability, provided it has the same ticket price. Exchanges can be made up to 24 hours before the start of the screening.

You are only eligible for a refund if the screening has been cancelled.

After a screening, you'll receive a voting link by email at the address you used to purchase your ticket(s). Use the link to rate the film you've just seen. The film with the highest audience rating at the end of the festival wins the IDFA Audience Award.

Daily standing will be available on the website throughout the festival. The winner will be announced on Friday, November 20, followed by a screening of the winning title on Saturday, November 21. Additional screenings of the audience favorite will take place as part of the Best of IDFA: Audience Favorites program.

All new feature films (year of production 2025 or after) selected for the following IDFA program sections are eligible: International Competition, Envision Competition, Luminous, Frontlight, Best of Fests, Signed, and Paradocs. 

You can vote for all screenings up to and including November 20, except for screenings followed by a talk and the world premiere of a Dutch production. Dutch co-productions are eligible.

Exceptions may be made to ensure that every eligible film has at least two opportunities for audiences to vote.
