You’ll find all the information about the locations and accessibility of the IDFA 2026 festival theaters and venues below. You can also easily locate the venues on Google Maps. Travel easily and worry-free through Amsterdam with public transport. Thanks to various tools and accessible amenities, you can plan your trip according to your needs and be well-prepared. We also offer many screenings with adjustments or extra facilities, including low-stimulus screenings and films with audio description and subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
Cinemas and DocLab locations
- Accesibility: Wheelchair accessible.
- Toilet: No accessible toilet available.
- Assistance dogs: Officially trained service dogs are welcome.
- Parking: The nearest disabled parking is at Q-Park Waterloopplein and public parking spots at Kloveniersburgwal and Houtkopersdwarsstraat
- Accessibility: The park is fully wheelchair accessible.
- Planetarium: Inside the Planetarium, our staff members will be happy to assist visitors in a wheelchair with finding a suitable space in the auditorium.
- Toilets: An accessible toilet is available on-site.
- Hearing Assistance: There is unfortunately no telecoil (hearing loop) system available in the auditoriums.
- Assistance Dogs: Officially trained service dogs are welcome. However, they have to wear a logo of the educating organisation and are not allowed in all areas of ARTIS.
- Parking: There are five designated disabled parking spaces available in the main ARTIS parking lot.
- Accessibility: The venue is wheelchair accessible. Elevators are available to reach the first floor (Logefoyer) and the fourth floor (In de Nok). The Grand Café Carré on the ground floor is also fully accessible to visitors with disabilities.
- Wheelchair Spaces: There are three wheelchair spaces available downstairs in the stalles (stalls). Each space has room next to it for one or two attendants. Please reserve these spaces in advance via the chatbox in the lower right corner of IDFA.nl or by emailing service@idfa.nl.
- Mobility Scooters: It is not possible to enter the theatre halls with a mobility scooter. You can easily transfer to a complimentary rental walker or wheelchair to reach your seat. Our staff will safely park your scooter nearby during the screening and after return the rental walker/wheelchair so that you can return to your mobility scooter.
- Toilets: Fully accessible toilets for wheelchair users are located on the ground floor, available on both the left and right sides.
- Assistance Dogs: Officially trained assistance dogs are welcome.
- Hearing Assistance: A telecoil system is available. Please inquire with the theater staff at the cloakroom on the ground floor (a €10 deposit is required). The venue provides both telecoils with headphones and telecoils that connect directly to your personal hearing aid.
- Parking: Designated disabled parking spaces are available within 100 meters of the venue: 2 disabled parking spots at Korte Amstelstraat. Or at 800 m Q-park Centrum Oost with 5 spots. Visitors with disabilities are permitted to be dropped off directly in front of the theater entrance.
Oudezijds Achterburgwal 106-108
- Accessibility: The building is unfortunately not step-free (there are 3 steps to reach the room).
- Wheelchair Spaces: Not applicable.
- Toilets: There is no accessible toilet available on-site.
- Parking: There are no designated disabled parking spaces available near the venue.
- Accessibility: The venue is fully wheelchair accessible via an elevator. Please inform a host for access to the elevators.
- Wheelchair Spaces: There is 1 designated wheelchair space available in each cinema hall.
- Toilets: Fully adapted, wheelchair-accessible toilets are available on-site.
- Assistance Dogs: Officially trained assistance dogs (guide dogs) are welcome.
- Parking: There are no designated disabled parking spaces directly at the venue. The closest accessible parking spaces are located on Gustav Mahlerlaan.
- Accessibility: The building is wheelchair accessible via an elevator located right next to the stairs.
- Wheelchair Spaces: The cinema on the first floor has one wheelchair space available. One can be created in de Rode zaal and there are multiple available in the theatre hall. We kindly ask you to reserve this space in advance by calling 020 820 3746 or emailing service@idfa.nl.
- Toilets: A fully adapted, wheelchair-accessible toilet is located in the café area.
- Assistance Dogs: Officially trained assistance dogs are welcome.
- Hearing Assistance: There is unfortunately no telecoil (hearing loop) system available in the cinema.
- Parking: A designated disabled parking space is available directly at the front of the building.
- Accessibility: The venue is fully wheelchair accessible. The main entrance of the building is equipped with an elevator, and all rooms can be reached via stairlifts.
- Wheelchair Spaces: Wheelchair spaces are available. We kindly ask you to reserve these spaces in advance upon request by emailing service@idfa.nl.
- Toilets: An accessible toilet is available on-site.
- Assistance Dogs: Officially trained assistance dogs are welcome.
- Hearing Assistance: There is unfortunately no telecoil (hearing loop) system available in the cinema.
- Parking: 4 disabled parking spots are available on the Zieseniskade, 4 minutes walking from the location. Otherwise there are wheelchair friendly parking spots available at Q-Park Europarking on the Marnixstraat.
- Accessibility: The entire venue is wheelchair accessible. All programs take place on the ground floor.
- Wheelchair Spaces: Wheelchair spaces are available. These are upon request and must be reserved in advance by emailing service@idfa.nl.
- Toilets: An accessible toilet is available on-site.
- Assistance Dogs: Officially trained assistance dogs are welcome.
- Hearing Assistance: There is no telecoil (hearing loop) system available.
- Visual Aids: TBA. Depends on the specific programs.
- Parking: There are no designated disabled parking spaces near the venue.
- Accessibility: The venue is fully wheelchair accessible and reachable via an elevator.
- The VR Experience: During the experience, visitors wear a VR headset and move through a physical space. The on-site team guides visitors through setting up the equipment and ensures everyone can participate comfortably.
- Assistance: Because visitors become completely immersed in the virtual world during the VR experience, it is not possible to bring an attendant into the room for physical support. Visitors must therefore be able to go through the experience independently.
- Motion Sickness & Well-being: Most visitors do not experience any issues during the experience. The VR experience is designed for comfort, and visitors move naturally through the space. Visitors who are sensitive to motion sickness or dizziness can inform the on-site team beforehand for additional guidance.
- Light Effects: There are no stroboscopic light effects used in the experience.
- Glasses Wearers: If glasses are necessary, they can in many cases simply be worn underneath the VR headset. This depends on the size of the frame and the strength of the lenses. (Please note: multifocal glasses may sometimes perform less optimally in VR). For the best experience, we advise wearing contact lenses if possible.
- Accessible Toilets: There is unfortunately no accessible toilet available at this location at this time.
- Animals & Assistance Dogs: Animals are not allowed at the venue. Due to safety regulations and the nature of the VR experience, officially trained assistance dogs are unfortunately not permitted either.
- Parking: The official parking recommendation is Parking Oosterdok (Oosterdokskade). In this parking garage, at least one official disabled parking space is reserved within a maximum of 100 meters from the entrance of the museum.
- Accessibility: The entire Eye building is fully accessible to people in a wheelchair or with other disabilities. All floors can be reached via elevator. The elevator to the reception desk is located directly to the right of the main entrance stairs.
- Wheelchair Spaces: There are 2 wheelchair spaces available in each cinema. Since these spaces are fitted with regular seats by default, we kindly ask you to reserve them in advance by emailing service@idfa.nl.
- Cinema 1: The wheelchair spaces are located on the first row.
- Cinema 2: The wheelchair spaces are located at the back of the cinema.
- Toilets: Adapted, accessible toilets are available in the basement, on the ground floor, on the first floor, and in the exhibition area.
- Hearing Assistance: A telecoil (hearing loop) system is available in all four cinemas. Depending on your hearing aid, you may need a receiver or neckloop. These are available free of charge at the reception desk.
- Assistance Dogs: Officially trained assistance dogs are welcome.
- Parking: There are two designated disabled parking spaces available in the A'DAM Toren parking garage. We advise you to use the A'DAM Toren exit when leaving the garage, as it features a wheelchair-friendly, automatic outer door.
- Accessibility: The venue is wheelchair accessible via the the restaurant downstairs to reach the elevator. Guidance is needed to open and operate the elevator.
- Wheelchair Spaces: There are two wheelchair spaces available in the cinema. These spaces are located on the first row.
- Toilets: An accessible toilet is available on the ground floor, which can be reached via the elevator.
- Assistance Dogs: Officially trained assistance dogs are welcome.
- Hearing Assistance: There is unfortunately no telecoil (hearing loop) system available.
- Parking: A designated disabled parking space is available directly next to the building.
- Accessibility: The theater is wheelchair accessible. The foyer, Cinema 2, and Cinema 3 are located on the ground floor. Cinema 1 is on the first floor and is accessible via an elevator. Please note: this elevator is limited in size and unfortunately not suitable for electric wheelchairs.
- Wheelchair Spaces: In each cinema, one wheelchair space can be created in the front row by removing two regular seats. We strongly advise you to reserve this space in advance by requesting at the register 15 minutes before the start of the screening. Please note that these temporary spaces are unfortunately not accessible for electric wheelchairs.
- Toilets: An accessible toilet is available right next to the wheelchair elevator. Key to be requested at the bar.
- Hearing Assistance: Wireless hearing assistance is available in all cinemas via the MobileConnect system.
- Assistance dogs: Officially trained assistance dogs are welcome.
- Parking: Disabled parking space next to Het Ketelhuis. Accessible from the Westergasbrug, report to the porter.
- Accessibility: The venue is wheelchair accessible. The cinema (K1) is located entirely on the ground floor.
- Wheelchair Spaces: Wheelchair spaces are available and are located along the aisles.
- Toilets: An accessible toilet is available on the ground floor.
- Hearing Assistance: There is unfortunately no telecoil (hearing loop) system available.
- Assistance Dogs: Officially trained assistance dogs are welcome.
- Parking: Public disabled parking spots are available on Valckenierstraat and Nieuwe Achtergracht.
- Accessibility: The theater is easily accessible for wheelchair users and people with a mobility scooter. An adapted elevator is available.
- Wheelchairs: Wheelchair spaces with room for an attendant are available in both the Main Hall (Grote Zaal) and Studio Boekman. These spaces must be reserved in advance by phone via customer service at 020 625 54 55.

- Parking: At the Stadhuis parking garage, visitors with a European disabled parking card can park (paid parking) in the garage underneath the city hall. There are 6 designated disabled parking spaces available here. An elevator goes directly from the parking garage to the City Hall and Nationale Opera & Ballet. Parking Amstel 1: If the parking garage is not an option, visitors with a European disabled parking card may park (for a maximum of 5 hours) in one of the two spaces next to the entrance at Amstel 1. Approach route: Drive from Mr. Visserplein towards Waterlooplein and turn right just before the Blauwbrug. Upon arrival, you can check in with the porter via the intercom post. It is not possible to reserve parking spaces in advance.
- Accessibility: An elevator is available to reach all cinemas. To access Cinema 1, 2, and 3, the freight elevator (goederenlift) must be used. A Pathé staff member will be happy to assist you with this.
- Wheelchair Spaces: There is one wheelchair space available in each cinema, located on the back row.
- Cinema 2 & 3: The space is located on the side of the back row when entering.
- Cinema 4: The space is located in the middle of the back row when entering.
- Toilets: Adapted toilets (accessible/disabled toilets) are available on the ground floor, second floor, and third floor.
- Hearing Assistance: Er is geen ringleidingsysteem beschikbaar.
- Assistance Dogs: Officially trained assistance dogs are welcome.
- Parking: There are two designated disabled parking spaces available directly at the venue: Zieseniskade, 150-200m from the cinema. Or at Lijnbaansgracht nr. 260
- Accessibility: The venue is wheelchair accessible via elevators. For a few of the elevators, a special pass is required; a Pathé staff member will be more than happy to assist you with this.
- Wheelchair Spaces: There are 4 to 5 wheelchair spaces available in each cinema. These spots are easily accessible via the regular entrance of the cinema.
- Toilets: An adapted toilet (accessible/disabled toilet) is available on-site.
- Hearing Assistance & devices: All cinemas are compatible with the Subcatch app (for spoken subtitles) and the Earcatch app (for audio description).
- Assistance Dogs: Officially trained assistance dogs are welcome.
- Parking: Multiple designated disabled parking spaces are available on and around the Buikslotermeerplein. The parking rate is € 1.60 per hour. On Sundays, parking is free after 19:00 (7 PM).
- Accessibility: The venue is wheelchair accessible and equipped with a stairlift.
- Wheelchair Spaces: In the cinemas, wheelchair places are as follows:
- Tuschinski 1: there are 4 wheelchair spaces in the back row of the stalls.
- Tuschinski 2: there are 2 wheelchair spaces in the bottom row.
- Tuschinski 3: there is 1 wheelchair space in the 5th row from the top.
- Tuschinski 4: there is 1 wheelchair space in the top row.
- Tuschinski 5: there is 1 wheelchair space in the second top row.
- Tuschinski 6: there is 1 wheelchair space in the top in the 4th row from the top.
- Toilets: An accessible toilet is available on-site.
- Hearing Assistance: A telecoil (hearing loop) system is available in the cinemas (Only Ear/SubCatch).
- Parking: The closest designated disabled parking space is located on the Amstel, near house number 30.
- Accessibility: The venue is fully wheelchair accessible. The theater is located on the first floor.
- Wheelchair Spaces: There are two wheelchair spaces available in the theatre. Each space takes up one regular seat. Please reserve in advance by emailing service@idfa.nl.
- Toilets: An accessible toilet is available on-site (please ask a staff member for the key).
- Hearing Assistance: There is no telecoil (hearing loop) system available.

- Parking: A designated disabled parking space is available at the rear of the building.
- Accessibility: Rialto De Pijp is wheelchair accessible via an elevator.

- Accessibility: The venue is fully wheelchair accessible with an elevator.
- Wheelchair Spaces: There are two official wheelchair spaces available in each cinema. These spaces are located on the front row. A third can be created in the back row. This has to be requested at the register 15 minutes before the start of the film.

- Parking: With a disabled card, you can park at VU (free of charge) in front of HG (main building: De Boelelaan 1105) or on the campus square (Approach from Van der Boechorststraat). Showing this card at the barrier will get you into the grounds. You can also park in the car park (P3) under the NU VU building (approach from Van der Boechorststraat). This does require payment. There are parking spaces close to the lifts to the ground floor of the NU VU and also wheelchairs available.

Festival Center for Professionals
- Accessibility: The building is fully wheelchair accessible and equipped with adapted elevators. The Rabozaal can be reached via elevator. Please keep in mind that there is a short distance to cover to reach the theatre halls.
- Wheelchair Spaces: There is ample space for wheelchairs and companions inside the theatre halls.
- Mobility Scooters: Mobility scooters are unfortunately not allowed inside the building. However, you can borrow a wheelchair from us on-site.
- Toilets: Adapted toilets (accessible/disabled toilets) are available on-site.
- Hearing Assistance: A telecoil (hearing loop) system is available in both theatres. You can pick up a hearing assist device at the cloakroom. If you wear a hearing aid, you will receive a pocket receiver that connects directly to it. If you do not wear a hearing aid, a standard earpiece can be provided.
- Assistance Dogs: Officially trained assistance dogs are welcome. We kindly ask you to notify us of your arrival in advance by calling 020 624 23 11.
- Parking: There are unfortunately no designated disabled parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of the venue. Wheelchair accessible parking is available at Q-Park Europaring on the Marnixstraat (10-minute walk), on the Leidsekade and the Zieseniskade (5-minute walk).
- Accessibility: The venue is fully wheelchair accessible.
- Toilets: An accessible toilet is available on-site.
- Assistance Dogs: Officially trained assistance guides and dogs are welcome.
- Parking: Designated public disabled parking spaces are available on the opposite side of the canal and on the Elandsgracht (approximately a 10-minute walk).
- Accessibility: The entire theater is wheelchair accessible.
- Wheelchair Spaces: In both rooms, wheelchair spaces are situated in the first tier (first row). There is also room for an attendant. Please reserve these spaces in advance by emailing service@idfa.nl.
- Mobility Scooters: Mobility scooters are unfortunately not allowed inside the theatre hall. You can transfer to a regular theater seat or use a complimentary rental wheelchair if preferred.
- Toilets: Accessible toilets are available. You can find one in the Grand Café and one in the Red Foyer (De Rode Foyer).
- Hearing Assistance: Both headphones and induction loops are available, though the induction loop may not work with all types of hearing aids. You can borrow earbuds and the induction loop at the cloakroom.
- Assistance Dogs: Officially trained assistance dogs are welcome.
- Drop-off & Parking: The street in front of the main entrance is car-free. However, visitors with disabilities are allowed to be dropped off directly in front of the theater entrance. The nearby parking garage Q-Park Europarking has two designated disabled parking spaces available.
