I AM – Investigation Art Mysteries
In this exciting five-part series for young audiences, friends Martijn and Finbarr become true detectives and try to unravel famous art mysteries. The first two episodes are being screened at IDFA.
In their first adventure, Gemaskerde helden (Masked Heroes), our friends explore Banksy’s street art—graffiti that appears unexpectedly, often as a protest against injustice, power, and greed. But does Banksy really exist? Martijn and Finbarr discover that his art is also about masks, freedom, and daring to be yourself. In the second installment, De pispot affaire (The Urinal Affair), Martijn and Finbarr want to find out who was bold enough to submit a urinal to an art exhibition in April 1917. “Scandalous!” people exclaimed at the time.
These two friends often felt unsure of themselves when they were young—maybe you’ve sometimes felt unseen, too, or felt like pushing back? Best of all, their quest shows how you can find the courage to be who you are and see yourself in a new light.
