Student group tickets
Planning to come to the festival with a group (minimum 20 students)? You can reserve tickets for selected screenings in advance—for just €8 per person. The reservation form will be available on this page from October 9–15. Keep an eye on the website!
Once submitted, your reservation is final and you will receive an invoice. If payment is not received by the deadline, the reservation will be cancelled.
Coming to IDFA with fewer than 20 students? No problem. Starting October 29, you can buy single student tickets for just €8 each. See above for more on discounted tickets.
Study and student associations
Want to promote an IDFA screening with your fellow students through your association? In return, you will receive 4 free tickets and the chance to reserve group tickets for €8 each—before ticket sales even begin.
Here’s how it works:
- Share your association’s favorite documentary themes with us via this form.
- Based on the interests you submitted, our programmers will select a fitting film for your audience.
- Promote the film among your members—think social media, newsletters, magazines, etc.
- Receive 4 free student tickets to the screening. How you give them away is up to you—maybe a giveaway or a raffle!
- Want to come with a group of students? We can reserve your tickets before public sales start.

Film programs for young audiences
Each year, IDFA hosts special programs tailored to young documentary fans. Together with Meervaart Studio, a group of young cinephiles curates a selection of films under the Young Adult Label, presented at Cinema De Vlugt.
This year we are also partnering with Cineville, so Cineville members can attend selected IDFA screenings for free across various arthouse cinemas on specific days. Under 30 years old? Then you can become a Cineville member for a reduced price of €19 a month.
Do not miss IDFA Meets—special filmscreenings, after-talks and drinks in collaboration with local partners, specially curated for a young audience.
As soon as the program is announced, you will find the links to these events on this page.
Sign up as a volunteer
Each year, hundreds of passionate volunteers help bring the festival to life—and we would love to have you on board. Join us behind the scenes and be part of the team: from assisting audiences in theaters to supporting our new media exhibitions and welcoming international guests. A unique opportunity to experience the festival from the inside out!
