This year, IDFA once again offers a lot for students and young documentary lovers. From discounted tickets and film student accreditations to special screenings and group offers – there’s something for everyone.
Ticket discounts
Get your tickets for the 39th edition of IDFA! As a student or Cineville member, you’ll enjoy discounted access to the festival – from Best of IDFA programs to regular film screenings. Below, you’ll find ticket prices and info on how to book as a student or Cineville member.

Student group tickets
Film Student accreditation
Explore the festival as a film student, attend screenings and talks, and discover new documentary voices and approaches from around the world.
Eligible to apply:
Film school students and university or arts school students enrolled in a film or media degree with demonstrated specializations in film.
This accreditation gives access to:
- 12 (free) tickets to all regular IDFA screenings, immersive art and events, including live cinema events. 5 of these tickets can be booked from October 26th at 12:00 PM, the remaining 7 tickets can be booked from November 13th.
- Additional (free) tickets to Filmmaker Talks.

Film programs for young audiences
IDFA Meets
Do not miss IDFA Meets – a program bringing bold collaborations across the cultural field to engage a new generation of curious minds with a passion for arts and culture beyond cinema. More information about Meets during the festival will follow.
Young Adult Label
Each year, IDFA hosts special programs tailored to young documentary fans. Together with Meervaart Studio, a group of young cinephiles curates a selection of films under the Young Adult Label, presented at Cinema De Vlugt.
Cineville
This year we are also partnering with Cineville, so Cineville members can attend selected IDFA screenings for free across various arthouse cinemas on Fridays during the festival.
IDFA Dance Nights
From documentary to the dance floor! Grab a drink, join the party, and celebrate at the IDFA Dance Nights every Saturday during the festival at Café Kuyl, with a special Karaoke edition on November 22. Music, good vibes, and festival energy. Free access.
Young Doc Circle
Are you a graduate with a passion for documentary film and IDFA? Then join the Young Doc Circle – a community of film lovers and all kinds of creative makers aged 25 to 40, or anyone who feels that age. With your support for IDFA’s talent development programs, we ensure that the next generation of filmmakers can tell their stories. In return for your support, you’ll get access to exclusive Young Doc events, a special festival pass, an invitation to the Opening Night at Carré, and more.
