Paci

It’s been 10 years since director and choreographer Juliette Roudet was last in Corsica, where she grew up. Her uncles are tough and surly, and estranged from one another. She wants to question them about events in the past, but when talking doesn’t yield enough, she uses dance instead.

Timidly, awkwardly, these uptight men gradually join in Roudet’s subtle choreography. In the magnificent natural surroundings of the island, their bodies suddenly reveal an unexpected softness.

These scenes are interspersed with rehearsals of the director’s dance performance Paci, translated as “peace.” The choreography engages in a dialogue with her family history and family dynamics.
