Synopsis
Can AI know me just by looking at me? Am I predictable? Am I just like the other people who look and dress like me? The provocative installation AI & Me by artist duo Mots investigates the extent to which people are prepared to allow AI to assess them purely on the basis of their appearance.
The installation consists of a black wooden box containing a camera and TV screen in which the participants are subjected to unfiltered analysis by AI. The participant then receives an honest, sometimes even blunt, mix of assessments and advice from the perspective of the machine. The experience not only challenges our comfort with technological judgment but also provokes thought on the broader implications of having AI in our lives.
