The DocLab VR Gallery brings together a selection of this year’s best virtual reality works, each with its own story to tell and way of inviting you into it. Discover how artists and filmmakers use VR to shape a different relationship between you and the people, places and perspectives in their work.
What to expect?
The VR Gallery is a space inside the main DocLab exhibition at de Brakke Grond. When you arrive, a volunteer will scan your ticket and welcome you to your booth. Your headset is reserved for you throughout a 50-minute session. You decide which works to experience from a menu (see the full selection below). No previous VR experience is needed: a volunteer will explain the headset, talk you through the selection and help you choose. You’re welcome to pause or stop any experience. All works are wheelchair accessible and can be experienced both seated and standing. If you feel dizzy, nauseous or uncomfortable, you can best close your eyes or remove the headset and let a volunteer know.
Your ticket also includes access to the rest of the DocLab exhibition, so take some time to explore the other works on show before or after your VR session.
No ticket, or sold out? Free walk-in spots are available every hour. Availability is limited. Come to de Brakke Grond and ask a volunteer where you can find the VR Gallery.
