You enter a small Berlin apartment through a white front door. Beyond it, a narrow hallway leads to three rooms: a kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. The rooms are cramped, sparsely furnished, and unusually tidy. No one is there.
In this virtual reality experience you are guided by light, sound, and footprints on the floor as you move from room to room, gradually discovering fragments of a conversation between two men having sex. Their voices fill the empty apartment, drawn from an actual recording of an intimate encounter that took place there. You are free to look around as their conversation continues.
One voice belongs to a Filipino nurse whose brother was killed during the Philippine drug war; the other to a former Israeli soldier who served in Gaza. In the privacy of the apartment, their pillow talk moves between desire, grief, and violence, bringing one man’s loss into intimate proximity with another’s participation in war.
