Accessibility at locations and screenings
During IDFA, there are various screenings with accommodations or additional facilities, including sensory-friendly screenings, and films with audio description and subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. We also have an overview of accessibility at the various festival locations in Amsterdam. Would you like to visit IDFA with a wheelchair? Accessibility filters in the program overview.
Starting October 24, the entire program will be available online. In the daily program (this link will work starting October 24), you can filter by various types of accessibility, such as audio description, subtitles for deaf and hard of hearing and sensory friendly screenings.
Please note: The filter results will only show the screenings for one day. If you want to see the results for other days, please switch the day in the overview.
Sensory friendly screenings
Sensory-friendly screenings will take place at Het Documentaire Paviljoen and Het Ketelhuis. During these screenings, the lights will be dimmed, the sound will be lower than usual, and there will be no trailers at the beginning. There is also the option to step out for a break during the film.

Films with Dutch or English audio description
For a selection of films, audio description is available through Earcatch. For Dutch-language films, the audio description is in Dutch, and for English-language films, it is in English. The following films are included.
* Please note that audio description will be available two days before the first film screening.
Films with audio description and subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing
For a selection of films, subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing (SDH) are available. For the Dutch films, subtitles are available via Subcatch. For the international titles, there are some screenings with SDH on the screen. The blue box for ticket sales indicates which screenings have this option.

Screening with Q&A with sign language interpreter
The screening of Paikar on Sunday, November 23, at 13:00 at Tuschinski will feature Dutch subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing (ODS), and the Q&A afterwards, hosted by TYD, will be supported by a Dutch speech-to-text interpreter and sign language interpreter (NGT).
